Fablabs and rural Europe: state of the art and future options

This open roundtable / workshop aims at pooling together European Fablabs located in rural or periurban places and facilitating exchanges about their difficulties, challenges and future developments…

Several questions shall be raised:
1- what are the challenges for a Fablab to settle down in a rural area?
2- what are the main resemblances and differences in terms of community, external environment, economic model?
3- what are the existing links among the European rural Fablabs (at regional or national level for instance)?

The expected outcome of this initial exchange is:
– to share experience and good practice;
– to confirm whether further exchanges, pooling of ideas and information is desirable all year long;
– to explore potential EU funding sources.

As for the entire Fablab programme, the content of this open workshop shall be adjusted by its participants in situ.
