Christian Simon is a lecturer at the Pierre et Marie Curie University (UPMC).
For 10 years he conducted research in molecular modeling of ionic liquids, particularly for applications in nuclear fuel chemistry.
During three years spent at the Ministry of Research as “Nuclear Safety and Radioactive Waste”, he became aware of the potential of citizen and participatory sciences, based on the FabLab and Hackerspaces. He founded the FabLab of Sorbonne Universités with B. Ramond (UTC) and V. Dupuis (UPMC) to create a place for pedagogical innovation, interdisciplinary and favorable to the realization of projects in the fields of participatory environmental mapping, The city of tomorrow, ecological transformation.
