Nicolas Lassabe is Doctor in Informatics, he did his thesis on the morphogenesis and the evolution of artificial creatures. He has previously worked as a developer in Silicon Valley. He then completed a post-doc in robotics at the University of Cornell (USA) where he discovered the 3D printing, the open-hardware, and FabLabs. This pushed him to create Toulouse, Artilect, the first French FabLab, in 2009. Artilect is an open-collaborative lab giving access to the tools of digital manufacturing which currently has more than 1000 members. Nicolas is also the co-founder with Artilect and Fi. The FabLab and FI aims to foster the emergence of collaborative innovations, economic and technological. He has worked as a researcher at ONERA, he is a member of the Board of the International Association of FabLabs, and he has networked InterFab and works as R&D director to Artilect Lab that it has confused.
